Creating  Cultural Bridges and Strengthening Communities

Since I arrive to Michigan in 1989 I found it difficult to emerge in a new culture. It was real challenge to fit in a new system.  My mayor difficulties were to find resources in my native language and people who I could identify culturally. My older daughter was going through an identity crisis and I couldn't find any program in the community to help us. Therefore, my willingness to thrive and provide for my family ignite my first effort to do it myself.  That's how Niños del Sol (Children of the Sun Project ) started, my first program of a series of initiatives that came later. Its been now 30 years of growing skills and experience serving not only my family but the entire community.

Currently, I coordinate programming focused on Latino communities across the state of Michigan, training related to resource access and advocacy development and advise on strategy and organizational inclusion. Other services include, project management, recruiting, facilitation of workshops, and trainings.
